Independent equine welfare organisation dedicated to ending the abuse and suffering of equines in markets and auctions. Investigates incidents of cruelty, neglect or abuse.
Fieldworkers attend as many horse auctions, fairs and sales as possible to monitor conditions in which horses and ponies are sold. They report any actions that do not comply with the law in relation to auction sales to the relevant authorities.
The organisation campaigns against the indiscriminate breeding of unwanted foals, who have an average life span of 6 months.
EMW Wales at Talgarth - a remedial and rehabilitation centre set in beautiful countryside with 11 residents from miniature shetland to thoroughbred. Also houses foals rescued from auction. EMW Wales aims to re-home as many horses as possible. EMW will never sell or breed from horses or ponies that come into their care.
