Mannog Appaloosa Stud is a small private stud based in North Wales with easy access off the A55, 20 minutes from the Roman City of Chester.
The word 'Mannog' derives from the old Welsh word for 'Spotted' and the stud prides itself on quality care for visiting mares and breeding and selling quality Appaloosas with proven world-class American bloodlines to excel in all disciplines.
Our stallions 'Mannog Moonshadow' (15.00HH Leopard Spot) and 'Mannog Moonriver' (15.2HH Blanket Spot) are registered with the Appaloosa Horse Club of America and the Appaloosa Horse Club (UK) and are licenced stallions, having both passed a full five stage vetting by an independent vet.
Their progeny have excellent conformation, movement and temperament and, in most cases, colour, and are already being placed in the show ring - just like their dads.

The Welsh are particularly fond of rugby, and when Wales score, the noise from the Millennium Stadium is just awesome.Though smaller in number, the enthusiastic supporters of the Welsh Cobs raise a decibel or two at the Royal Welsh Show when the highly competitive displays of Cobs and ponies hold centre stage in the main ring. Some people travel to Builth Wells in July simply to witness that event only. It is a magical annual moment.
During August, the idyllic painted seaside town of Aberaeron hosts the Aberaeron Festival of the Cob, a great jamboree of events, attended by thousands It just goes to prove the high value attached to this popular breed, and why sales and news of events are watched with fanatical attention all over the globe.
Some of the largest sales are again held at the Builth Wells Showground. The Royal Welsh Spring sale is held in May, while the Fayre Oak sale, reputed to be the largest sale in the world of registered Cobs and ponies, is held in September.
Another selling event not to be missed is the Hay on Wye Breeders Sale in October, a far different occasion to the Literary Book Festival associated with this intriguing town.Aberaeron Festival: www.aberaeronfestival.comTregaron Festival: www.tregarontrotting.comWelsh Festival of the Horse: www.wec.org.uk
