Horse riding Wales - try a new sport on horseback in Wales.

Polocrosse is a fun stick and ball game and can be played by all ages, shapes and sizes on any type of horse. There are different divisions, graded A -E,  so all abilities are welcome.

Celyn Polocrosse run practices on a Tuesday night, usually at the Welsh College of Horticulture, Northop. It is also played in Pony Club. For details of either of these things contact Debbie Miller 01824 703254 or mob 07739 551444.

Dinas Powys Pony Club Branch

Dinas Powys Pony Club Branch in south Wales, established in 1975, organises regular events including dressage training and competitions, one day events and combined training.

Dinas Powys branch also runs polocrosse training and tournaments in south Wales.

Polocrosse is a team game played on horseback by two teams of 6 players. Each player carries a wooden stick with a net at the end. The polocrosse ball is carried and thrown between team members, who catch the ball using the net.

Polocrosse is a very exciting and enjoyable horse sport. Dinas Powys is one of the few branches in Wales to play polocrosse.

Flint and Denbigh Hunt Pony Club Branch

Flint and Denbigh Hunt Pony Club Branch in north Wales, established in 1946, excels in Polocrosse training. Branch members currently make up the winning national junior polocrosse team.

As well as polocrosse, the branch also organises training and competitions in show jumping, eventing, dressage, mounted games and triathlon in north Wales.

International Polocrosse Council

The International Polocrosse Council is the governing body for the equestrian sport of Polocrosse.

Polocrosse is a cross between polo and lacrosse. Played on horseback, the riders aim to score goals by throwing and catching the ball using a net on the end of a stick. It is a 'one rider, one horse' sport.

Pony Club (Polocrosse)

Pony club Polocrosse.jpgPolocrosse is a combination of polo and lacrosse and is played at branches throughout the UK including the two Welsh Branches, Flint & Denbigh and Dinas Powys.

The Pony Club has its own rulebook and holds regular tournaments with the Championships at Sansaw Park, Cheshire.

Welsh Dragons Polocrosse Club

The Welsh Dragons Polocrosse Club runs training sessions and takes part in competition with other UK polocrosse clubs.

This is one of the few polocrosse clubs in Wales.

Polocrosse is a sport played on horseback by two teams of 6 players, who manoeuvre a ball via nets on sticks - much like lacrosse played on horseback. It is a fast, exciting sport which both horse and rider seem to love.
